Thoughts On Being Pregnant
- I have never more fully appreciated the importance and value of a digestive system that works as intended.
- I can’t believe they make you work when you are pregnant. This is REALLY hard. They should let you stay home on sick leave, but not with the kids, that would be TWICE as hard, they should let you stay home with a nanny to watch the kids so you can rest, especially when you digestive system isn’t working as intended.
- Being pregnant should be a reason why you get to take it easy more, but if being pregnant means you need a bigger car and house, you might end up busier than ever.
- It is sweet sometimes, when I’m laying down, to rest my hand on my belly. It is only a little bump, but is round and firm, a home in progress. I try to keep my hand out of my pants when I’m up and about, you know, at the grocery store or something, but when I’m home, laying down, I rest my hand on my belly and send good thoughts to our little one.
- Each morning when I wake up I think, I’m glad I’m pregnant. Just a minute to say, no matter if I’m tired or throwing up or overwhelmed with all there is to do, that being pregnant is a unique and special time. It’s what I’ve wanted for so long. It means so much about the rest of the life me and my family will have. So for each day I will take time to remember, I’m glad to be pregnant.

That’s a good daily ritual, because being pregnant sucks in so many ways, it’s easy to forget what a blessing it is.
I’m glad you’re over the hump and hopefully feeling much better, as well.
