This Day Job is Affecting my Blogging

I was back at work last week, working from home, but as busy as I’ve ever been at work, especially since Baby Girl got sick again and then a hurricane hit Houston, where my family lives, so they were all in Austin, spending a lot of the time at my house. When is a girl supposed to blog?

Random thoughts…

- Remember when I thought Baby Girl might have been switched with another baby at the grocery store because she was SOOOOOO fussy? Good news and bad news. The good news is that she was on a new medicine to help with her wheezing and some babies are sensitive to it. It’s hard to ask her for details, but it could have been upsetting her stomach. The day after we stopped the medicine, she was less fussy and she’s been less fussy ever since. The bad news is that she still wants to go outside a lot of the time and some of the fussiness was more about her learning to walk and being independent and less about the medicine. But it isn’t all the time, just now and then and we can handle that.

- We have an offer on our rental house. We are past inspection, waiting on the appraisal and the buyer’s financing. It will feel good to have it sold.

- I’m still fascinated by Sarah Palin. I enjoyed this Saturday Night Live skit.

- I might be fascinated by Sarah Palin, but I’m in LOVE with Tina Fey. She is my super-double-extra-shot-of-Blossom. She is a writer and I love writers. She is funny and smart and successful. She is kind of awkward, like me, but she wears it well, which I hope to one day. I also hope to have lunch with her. I don’t spend a lot of time thinking about celebrities or which ones I want to have lunch with, but Tina Fey is my #1 dream lunch date. #2 and #3 are Dolly Parton and Jeff Tweedy. OK, maybe I think about it some.
